Ureteroscopic Stone Removal (URSL) is a minimally invasive procedure to treat stones located in the ureter (the tube connecting the kidney to the bladder). A thin, flexible ureteroscope is inserted through the urethra and bladder into the ureter. Stones are visualized and broken using laser lithotripsy, and fragments are removed with specialized baskets.
URSL is ideal for stones in the middle or lower ureter that are causing obstruction, pain, or recurrent infections.
