What is Uterus Removal Surgery (Hysterectomy)?

A hysterectomy involves the surgical removal of the uterus (womb). In some cases, the cervix, fallopian tubes, and ovaries may also be removed depending on the underlying medical condition. Once the uterus is removed, a woman will no longer menstruate or be able to conceive.

The procedure can be performed through laparoscopic, vaginal, or open (abdominal) techniques, with laparoscopic hysterectomy being the most preferred method due to its minimal invasiveness and quick recovery time.
